Wisdom teeth?

If my wisdom teeth aren%26#039;t bothering me, do I have to get them taken out?? it%26#039;s expensive and I%26#039;m nervous about the procedure but I don%26#039;t want to crowd or damage my other teeth? what do you think?

Wisdom teeth?
Go with what your dentist is telling you.

Most people have to get them removed, if they are not bothering you now and your jaw is not big enough for them they will bother you in the future.

It can be expensive depending on weather the teeth are impacted (attached to the bone) or they are partialy errupted.

If the wisdom teeth are erupted (out of the gum) they can usualy do it in office and its the lease expensive.

If they are impacted or under the gum you will need to see an oral surgen and they will probubly take them all at once.

I had all my wisdom teeth impacted and had them taken out by an oral surgen it was $1200 (I live in Canada so maybe different for you).

Dont be nervous about it, if you need surgery you will not be awake and if it is in office try and find a dentist who uses nitrous oxide (laughing gas) this causes you to forget about whats going on and makes you less nervous.

Good luck!
Reply:The cost in Florida is about $900 US per wisdom tooth, so that is much more expensive than Canada. Next life I will drive to Canada to have all four removed.

Later in life, when the body stops growing and actually begins to shrink due to poor nutrition, lack of execise, disease, heiredity, etc., the lower jaw will start to recede if the body can not absorb calcium from the diet (the body will take calcium from your bones similar to how a pool low on calcium will consume the calcium from the walls of the swimming pool). Take daily calcium suppliments, exercise the jaw (shaving with an electric shaver for a man is quite stimulating to the jaw and therefore very good if done daily), eat low acidic foods and beverages. No need to dispose of those wisdom teeth yet, in case other teeth in your mouth fail for any reason those wisdom teeth come in handy to tighten your mouth up. If you do pull your wisdom teeth, swallowing pills will become slightly more difficult, food will also collect behind the last tooth where the wisdom teeth were making brushing two times a day more imperative, also sensitivity to hot and cold will become more accute with Wisdom teeth removed since the space vacated by those teeth will allow liquids to access the jaw unless you opt for an expensive ($2000 per tooth extraction where the dentist actually laser seals the gum line after surgery). Most of the time the Dentist will just tell you that one or two stiches will do and they send you off with cotton crowed in your mouth bleeding for a week and those dentists crunch you like an annomymous number into their hefty bank accounts. Crowding of teeth occur when the jaw (lower, and sometimes upper) recede causing those remaining teeth to crowd together which could cause other issues especially if you do allot of jaw movements like talking and those teeth are rubbing together possibly making the jaw, gum, teeth raw and succeptable to infection.
Reply:same with mine.... they were fine and probably would have been able to be left in but my mom and i weren%26#039;t going to risk wasting the $4,000 worth of braces work! i got them taken out just with Novocaine they did both on my right side then a few months later did the other two... just getting Novocaine was WONDERFUL. i was fine the next day and i went out shopping and such, not a lot of pain at all... only big issues were the blood the first day and not being able to use a straw.
