Wisdom teeth???

today my appointment was made to get my wisdom teeth out, but they aren%26#039;t actuallly poking out of my gums yet at all....so they have to put me under to cut them out. my appointment is on monday and i%26#039;m kinda nervous....

anyone ever had this done before your teeth were actually OUT yet? how bad is it?

Wisdom teeth???
That%26#039;s the way mine were. Make sure you don%26#039;t eat anything hard to chew (like meat) or drink out of a straw for several days or a week. And if the pain pills your doc gives you don%26#039;t help, be sure to go into see him to make sure you don%26#039;t have a dry socket, the most common problem with this procedure. The actual procedure won%26#039;t hurt, and you%26#039;ll be numb for most of the first day, so that%26#039;s not bad. Just take it easy for a week or so afterwards, and keep plenty of cold, easy to eat food on hand (like ice cream, apple sauce, yogurt, etc.). Good luck!
Reply:YucK! Dont go!
Reply:with 1 only thank goodness-it does hurt and you will be on pain pills after for awhile as they heal
Reply:You sound like when I had mine taken out, and they had to cut/drill them out. It wasnt that bad, you will be sore for around a week more than likely. If you smoke, stop for at least 5 days, or you will be at a greater risk for developing a dry socket. I also highly recommend getting an electric heating pad to use starting the day after the surgery to use 15 min on, half hour off, and repeat as needed. I routinely take impacted teeth,(like yours), out on a regular basis, and overall its not that bad of an experience, but do expect to be sore. Hope this helps.
Reply:I haven%26#039;t gone through this yet, but I have to get the same thing done in a couple weeks.
Reply:my wife had her wisdom tooth extracted years ago. she was scared as hell only because, knowing her low pain treshhold, she freaked out. but it went pretty well. you%26#039;ll be amazed how dentists have the uncanny ability to get you sooooo comfortable once they get you on the chair. hang loose sweety.
Reply:everyone feels the same way..alot of patients worry..the doctor is a professional and does know what he%26#039;s talking about....its the truth wisdom teeth that arent fully developed ARE easy to remove..you will be in and out quickly..the whole time you are in the chair you will be getting numb and the extraction will take a matter of minutes...i work will and oral sergeon who removes wisdom teeth all the time and tell all the patients the same thing..they take the wisdom teeth out before they show because if they dont it could start to push on your other teeth and cause decay on those teeth and could possibly shift you r teeth if you wait to long...It is a better decision to get them extracted now...you are doing the right thing:)
Reply:I had this done, all four of my wisdom teeth were cut out. It also takes about 1-2 hours for them to all be out. Sorry to scare you but it was the worst pain I have ever had. I%26#039;ve even broken 5 bones and had one surgery over my life time and I%26#039;ve never felt pain like when I had my wisdom teeth done. You want to make sure that someone drives you home. I drove myself home and I had to keep stopping every 3 minutes or so to spit out the blood. Its going to hurt bad for at least 3 days. So make sure you get the pain medicine right away. I feel bad for you!!
Reply:yeah i just had mine out s days ago there is slight pain but the put you under and then give you drugs to ease the pain but im gonna be honest with you it helps but not totaly rince with salt water on the 2nd day and put ice on your cheeks it helps a bit
