Wisdom teeth!!!?

I have a few questions. When is the best time to get your wisdom teeth pulled when there first coming in or when they are the same length as your other teeth? One other question when do you usually have to go to a orthodondist instead of a regular dentist office, I made an appointment today and she said we might not be able to pull them here? Is that because mine are almost fully grown in? Any answers would help thank you!

Wisdom teeth!!!?
good question, really! -- jas
Reply:As soon as you can! The older you get them pulled the more painful the surgery will be. You need to goto an oral surgeon, and you can get a referral from your regular dentist. Some dentists are equipped to remove them if they are completely in, however, I woud recommend going to the oral surgeon as they will put you completely out, as the dentist will only gas you. :)
Reply:wisdome teeth are weird. i had to get mine removed because two were impacted which meant oral surgery was necessary (which would by why she said she may not be able to do them there) if they are coming in on their own and aren%26#039;t causing problems i would say not to worry about pulliing them at all unless they get a cavity in them. orthodontists deal with braces. my top two had grown in on their own but had cavaties so they pulled them. generally wisdom teeth are prone to cavaties because you can%26#039;t clean them properly. your dentist will help you decide what%26#039;s best in your situation because every one%26#039;s situation is different when it comes to wisdom teeth.
Reply:An oral surgeon usually pulls them. The age is usually in your 20 - 30%26#039;s. I just had my last two taken out at 41. It%26#039;s really not that bad.
