Wisdom teeth?

My wisdom teeth are starting to come through and I was looking for some stories and advice from people who have had them extracted in Australia. I%26#039;m particularly interested to know how much extraction costs. Also, I was wondering if anyone could tell me roughly what factors mean that the teeth have to be removed. If anyone could recommend a good dentist in the Kingsbury area of Melbourne too, that would be awesome.

The best website you can go to, in order to find out everything on specialist wisdom teeth removal, costs, stories related to wisdom teeth, post operative care, as well as newsletters about wisdom teeth, is http://www.oceansurgical.com.au. Good luck, I hope everything goes well for you! And remember, only go to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to have your wisdom teeth removed. You can find out about OM surgeons in your town by going to http://www.anzaoms.org
Reply:I can%26#039;t help with the Australia bit. I can tell you that they don%26#039;t NEED to be removed. Usually it%26#039;s only if they%26#039;re causing pain or prone to infection. Also if they are doing to be displacing your other teeth (people who have had braces usually get the removed). Have an x-ray and an opinion first.
Reply:They could very well need to be removed. Mine were coming through with no pain and were tilted foward, which meant eventually they would overcrowd my mouth and stuff up my bite (crooked teeth). I saw the x-ray, and it made sense. The dentist reccomended I get them out asap, so I did. Extraction costs depend on how many teeth you need pulled and how exposed they are.

I%26#039;d say go to the dentist and get his/her opinion on them. And x-ray will likely be necessary.
