Wisdom Teeth?

I need to get my wisdom teeth removed to prevent overcrowding in my mouth and to stop my teeth going back to thir original position before i had braces. Should i do it in the chair or at the hospital?

Wisdom Teeth?
In a dental office.
Reply:Go to a hospital and have them put you to sleep (of course this depends on what you can afford and what your insurance covers)

Having my wisdom teeth out was one of the worst experiences in my entire life. Make sure they get you lots of pain meds.
Reply:in the chair will be fine.
Reply:the best person to answer that is your dentist. I had mine done in a chair, but they were were a fairly easy pull as my dentist said. Just make sure whatever you do, get it all done at once, it%26#039;s much easier that way

Good Luck!
Reply:mine were impacted, and i did it in my dentist%26#039;s office. If I had the oral surgeon do it, I would be asleep, but it would cost out the wazoo! Plus it really wasn%26#039;t a bad experience. Now...the pain and discomfort the week after- has made me procrastinate about getting the others done!! Good luck!!
Reply:yeah, maybe oral surgeon
Reply:I went to an oral surgeon and was put out for it. I recommend that, because listening to it happen can be kind of traumatizing. You%26#039;ll fall asleep and it will be over in no time. :)
Reply:I%26#039;m not sure it%26#039;s done in a hospital. You can either have your dentist do it or get an oral surgeon to do it. Both do it in their office, but the oral surgeon gives you an IV and then you wake up and it is done, no more wisdom teeth. That is how I did it, because I heard your bottom wisdom teeth grow out of your jaw and they have to chisel them out. Like I want to be awake for that. I have to take a sedative just to go in the dentist office, so experiencing that chisel thing awake was not an option. Go for the IV.
Reply:I had mine out in the dentist%26#039;s chair but I was put to sleep. It%26#039;s the only way to go!
Reply:CANDY,

WISDOM TEETH ARE COMMONLY REMOVED BY THE GENERAL DENTIST OR THE ORAL SURGEON IN THE DENTAL CHAIR. THE ORAL SURGEON CAN EVEN PUT YOU TO SLEEP SO YOU FEEL OR EXPERIENCE NOTHING. THERE ARE VERY ISOLATED SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCED WHERE THE EXTRACTIONS WOULD BE IN A HOSPITAL
Reply:Wisdom teeth generally have conical roots and, as such, easily removed. That said, all four at once?
Reply:I had mine removed in hospital; I have had other teeth removed at the dentists but my experience at hospital was preferable as you don%26#039;t get sent home a few minutes afterwards, just in case there are any problems, which is highly unlikely, but you never know. You%26#039;ll only be in hospital a day or so so I would definitely go for that if you have a choice.
Reply:Hospital it will be safer and cheaper. I still have my wisdom teeth as the dentist would not refer me and he wanted £100 per tooth and that was 13 years ago!!
Reply:The hospital would not do that. The only person who will extract your wisdom teeth will be an oral surgeon. request for IV sedation, you will not remember a thing. Alos, don%26#039;t let a general dentist take your wisdom teeth out. They do not specialize on that.
Reply:the specialist you need to see is an %26#039;oral surgeon%26#039;. they often have their own offices and perform the surgery right in the chair.
Reply:go to hospital and sleep, it will be nicer this way, trust me!
Reply:I would go to a regular dentists office unless they can%26#039;t do it there and refer you to the hospital or another dentist. I went the other day to get my top ones pulled (age 20) pretty much fully grown in. They took x-rays of my full mouth each x-ray like 30 seconds. Right after that there like you want them pulled and I said sure. This was my first appointment at this new dentist. They numbed my teeth with a needle and like after 5 mins. my gums were numb and they were like does this hurt and after 2 minutes they had pulled my teeth out. I had to get the bottom ones pulled at age 16 but the top ones never grew in untill I was 19. I never had any problems with the bottom ones either. The next day on friday last week I was eatting normal food and no pain at all anymore. I bled for 24 hours but they were huge teeth and that%26#039;s normal. They never gave me any pain medication at all and never took any. Better to get them taken out they were causing me to have headaches, my right side was bleeding, and causing pain. Trust me it doesn%26#039;t hurt and well worth it when you can get them taken out. Best of luck! It doesn%26#039;t hurt all trust me...
