Wisdom teeth?

Please help! i need some answers! I just had my wisdom teeth removed on Friday. They were all surgical (but they didnt have to put me to sleep! yay!)

My bottom left of my mouth is soo swollen! the dentist had to remove part of my jaw to be able to take the tooth out! And my boyfriend is going to be coming and seeing me on Wendsday.....Will my face still be swollen like a balloon at that time? I hope not! please help me out!

Wisdom teeth?
I had my wisdom teeth out on Wednesday, I didn%26#039;t swell up that much. But my right lower jaw is a little swollen and I have a tiny bruise on my chin (my guess is it%26#039;s from where the oral surgeon had to hold on to me) I was put under for it though,so I didn%26#039;t feel a thing during the surgery. I was just going to be given local anesthesia, because I did not want to pay the extra money to be put to sleep, but my mom freaked out and told me she%26#039;d pay for me to be put to sleep, so I (reluctantly) took her up on it. Is your TONGUE sore? Mine feels like it weighs a ton, and if I miss a dose of pain pills, IT HURTS SOOO BAD! I am happy it is finally over with though. I am at work right now and on some of the pain pills and don%26#039;t know how the heck I am gonna make it home, lol, I feel almost like I am drunk and don%26#039;t know what the heck is going on!

Anyway, I got off track (see, I told you I don%26#039;t know what%26#039;s goin on)

To answer your question...No, you should not be swollen when your b/f comes to visit you. Alternate between cold and hot packs on your swollen jaw, 20 minutes cold, 20 minutes hot..

Also, do a lot of the salt water rinses especially after you eat. You don%26#039;t want food getting caught in there.
Reply:It will probably be less swollen than it is now, but if your boyfriend is what he should be, he will not find this off-putting. Perhaps he will want to snuggle to make you feel better.
Reply:you might have some swelling by wednesday but i think it will go down drastically by then. so basically, you will have some swelling
Reply:I have never heard of a dentist having to remove part of the jaw bone for wisdom teeth.

It could still be swollen. The best thing to do is put ice packs on it and take Alleve or Ibuprofen for inflammation.
Reply:i had a friend who had her wisdom teeth pulled out, her face was really swollen for like four days then it slightly got less, and cured up the next day
