Wisdom teeth??!?

i was told that in a few weeks i have to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out. not a problem until they told me that they will not put me to sleep only numb me up... that would be ok if all 4 of my teeth would be out. only 1 is out. is it ok that they do this??? please help me because i am really concerned!

Wisdom teeth??!?
The dentists in the navy are wonderful, but they are dentists, not oral surgeons. Dentists can%26#039;t put you to sleep because they usually don%26#039;t have the anesthesia training or license to do so. They also don%26#039;t spend as much of their education learning the skills to extract teeth, their job is to save them.

If you%26#039;re not in pain right now, I would recommend waiting until you return to the US before undergoing this procedure.
Reply:I had all four wisdom teeth pulled when I was asleep because they were growing sideways into my other teeth. It is important to get the wisdom teeth pulled if they are growing into other teeth. They cause more problems than they are worth.
Reply:It%26#039;s fine. I had it done.

I had 3 wisdom teeth pulled and one was impacted. All under local anesthetic. I didn%26#039;t feel a thing.
Reply:do you mean they are only going to do one at a time? WHILE YOUR AWAKE!!!!!!!!!. you can go to a different doctor and get a second opinion to see if they can do all four under sedation. I just had 2 pulled out at once maybe they can do that.
Reply:Well there is a few diffrent ways they can do it( i work in a detist office) I got put out when they did mine cause they were impacted but if all your wisdom teeth are in there properly with no crowding they can take them out by numbing you. just like a regular tooth. Also the size of them if they arent very big thats another reason for numbing. Some people can carry them their whole life and never get them removed they have a big enough mouth. But talk to them they can give you the reason they arent putting you to sleep. But those are some reasons i know of about the two differences. I hoped this helped alittle. GOOD LUCK
