Wisdom teeth?

so im getting my wisdom teeth out plus 4 other teeth our. im terrified of needles blood pain that sort of nature. when i went for a consultation just to %26#039;look%26#039; and what needs to be done i was already shaking and sweating. my parents said im not going to have an %26#039;IV%26#039; to put me to sleep but %26#039;laughing gas%26#039;. everyone i asked who got theres taken out were completely knocked out with the IV. so is laughing gas really going to make me better? i%26#039;ll be awake to see everything they%26#039;re doing plus wont i feel the shots????

Wisdom teeth?
Believe me, you dont want to be awake during this procedure.
Reply:You want to be knocked out.

My maxilofacial guy gave me laughing gas before the IV and it just made me queasy. When it came time to get a second one removed, I passed on the laughing gas, and he said count backwards from 100 when you feel the needle....

...I got to 99.
Reply:WITH NITROUS OXIDE (LAUGHING GAS) YOU WILL BE VERY RELAXED BUT AWAKE AND NOT CARE ABOUT PAIN FROM SHOTS. IF YOU%26#039;RE NERVOUS, GAS IS GREAT IF AN I.V. IS NOT AN OPTION. GOOD LUCK.
Reply:hello! I am a dentist! i dont know how old u r but i had the same experience in my childhood as well,it is absolutely natural....i can recall my heart beats when the dentist changed the position of dental unit...i felt extremely cold and trembling...but let me tell u something....dental injection is funny in comparison with intermuscular one....i have injected more than 30 children and very few of them overreacted...most of them didn%26#039;t even understand that there was a needle...i told them it was the woms bite!once u get the shot there should be NO NO pain at all...pulling the tooth is not a terrible procedure at all...work on urself ...u will success :) good luck
Reply:I got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled out. The only thing they did was inject anesthetic in my gums, so I wouldn%26#039;t feel the pain as they were pulling them out. Pretty much I was awake the whole time. It wasn%26#039;t so bad for me, the only thing I didn%26#039;t like much was hearing the clinking sound the tools made on my teeth. Aftewards when the aneshetic wore off I only felt a little pain for about 1hr then after that no more pain. I didn%26#039;t swell or anything. I%26#039;ve heard of people swelling and having bad pain but I guess I%26#039;m just lucky. Howevere, since you are getting 4 others pulled out at the same time along with your wisdom teeth I can%26#039;t really say. Just suck it up and get it over with is my best advice.
Reply:Laughing gas should knock you out but everyone experiences things differently.
Reply:I was fully awake when I had all four of my wisdom teeth taken out. All they used on me is the numbing medication through a shot in my gums. I felt the pressure of three of my teeth being pulled out, but the last one they got to, I felt the pressure and the pain and they had to inject the numbing medication 10 times to numb it. Although I have not experience the %26quot;laughing gas%26quot;, I have heard that it kind of puts you in %26quot;lala land%26quot; but you are awake. Don%26#039;t be scared, its not as bad as you think it is.
Reply:I dont%26#039; want to scare you, but I was put under when I had mine out, and I regret it. I was nauscious for days. I guess it all depends on the persons body and how it reacts. Have them numb you up and give you a relaxer, you should be fine. Close your eyes if you dont%26#039; want to see anything. It doesn%26#039;t take that long, normally, and I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s worth the aggrevation of the post op symptoms, but that again is just my opinion.
